Best Pop Wedding Songs
“I Do Cherish You” – Mark Wills
is a country song that sounds sweet even if you’re not a country music fan – Mark Wills sings this lovely little number, and we have a beautiful instrumental version for you.
“This I Swear” – Nick Lachey
Nick Lachey wrote and sang “This I Swear” for ex Jessica Simpson (brings to mind Billy Joel and “Just The Way You Are”, composed as a birthday gift for his first wife). A very pretty song.
“Marry Me” – Train
“Marry Me” by Train is an acoustic guitar ballad from their “Save Me, San Francisco” album, poignant in it’s simplicity. My personal favorite of these first four.
“What A Wonderful World”
“What A Wonderful World” is a transcendent feel-good song about life; perhaps it’s not the strongest as a wedding processional, but a great prelude or reception song. Everyone will recognize this song, if not from the radio, the commericial that employed it.
“I Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing” – Aerosmith
Aerosmith’s “I Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing” may seem a bit on the silly side – but then love leads us to do some strange and crazy things. As Paul McCartney sang “You’d think that people would have had enough of silly love songs” – but they haven’t, and this one has a lot of emotion in the vocal performance.
“Only Hope” – Mandy Moore
“Only Hope” is a piano based ballad from Mandy Moore, originally recorded (as far as I know) by the band Switchfoot, and I find the original most charming. This one is bit more artsy and might satisfy some who find many of the other options silly….
“Grow Old With Me” – Mary Chapin Carpenter
“Grow Old With Me” is a vintage offering from Mary Chapin Carpenter, reflective and thoughtful, as you might expect from the title.
Upbeat Wedding Songs (this was the year of the dance entrance)
“Forever” – Chris Brown
“Lovely (Center of My Universe)” – Michelle Tumes AND “You’re The One That I Want” – Grease
“Sunchyme” – Dario G
These are just a few of the thousands of pop songs that could work for you as you plan your wedding music.
“I Do Cherish You” is on our “Wedding Music Samples” album; if you need help choosing your wedding music, it’s a “best of” sort of album with short versions of 60 or 70 songs that are perfect for wedding ceremonies.
