Working on some wedding hymn ideas today. Not finding as many as I would have thought – I’ll keep looking. So far I like Guide Me O Thou Great Jehovah, Praise To The Lord The Almighty, This Is My Father’s World, For The Beauty Of The Earth, Immortal Invisible, Amazing Grace, All Things Bright and Beautiful, To God Be The Glory, and The Lord’s My Shepherd. Within a couple weeks I may be asking for your suggestions, because I’m sure there are a lot more that would be appropriate for preludes, recessionals, and perhaps at some point in the ceremony such as a prayer at the altar.
UPDATE: We’ve recorded a few of the songs above, and also Gentle Shepherd and Savior Like A Shepherd Lead Us; Gentle Shepherd features solo violin with Samuel Lawton, and you’ll also hear piano, strings, and french horn on this one; it’s one of my favorites from the set of songs we recorded with Samuel, very peaceful and smooth. Sam is also featured on some of the other hymns we are offering – take a listen! He’s a great player, and I think you will really appreciate the passion in his playing.
