I’m putting the finishing touches today (June 23, 2010) on our poignant version [Update - It's finished! and available!] of Storybook Love, The Princess Bride theme music. It’s a perfect bridal processional (or Bridesmaids walking song, or prelude, or postlude, or…..).
(Instrumentation is string section, various woodwinds [flute, oboe, english horn, clarinet], harp , and of course guitar. I’m considering adding a solo french horn in a couple spots.)
Storybook Love is perfect to get people in that romantic mindset for a beautiful wedding – you know, thinking about princesses, farm boys, ideal love, iocaine powder, and Miracle Max.
Just think about all those wonderful lines: “I will never love again”, and of course “mawwage is what bwings us togevvoh today.” And don’t forget – Buttercup was skilled at reading between the lines and discerning what our hero actually meant, not what he said… for when he said “as you wish”, what he really intended was “I love you!” Now that’s romantic.
