The problem is, there are too many great songs. “You Raise Me Up”, as performed by Josh Groban and a myriad of others, is an example of a recent, somewhat universal love song, based on Londonerry Air ( a traditional Irish song, which is normally associated with O Danny Boy). A nice arrangement by David Foster highlighted his version of this instant classic. It didn’t hurt that Groban performed it on one of the “Idol Gives Back” shows with the African Children’s Choir! This could be appropriate in many slots at your wedding – for ‘postlude’ music (after the recessional), or as prelude music, as walking music for the bridesmaids, or even as the bridal processional!
